Another Day of Caching in and Around Bay St. Louis and Another Buffet 3/25/2008
We left this morning to go caching west of here in Waveland and a few other small towns along the way. It really wasn't a very good caching day as most of the caches were in the middle of nowhere and either we didn't even try them or we couldn't find them. Our first cache was at Wally World, then it was on to Buccaneer State Park, which is closed now because of Katrina. The water park they had there was a mess and there wasn't much left of it. Then it was on to a cache located at the sign for the Silver Slipper Casino , which was the first land based casino built in Mississippi. Then it was on to Logtown, MS and a cache in the Logtown Cemetery.
Next was a cache located at the StenniSphere, Stennis Space Center's award winning visitor center which features 14,000 square feet of informative displays and exhibits from NASA, the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command and other agencies. On display at the Launch Pad is a 30' Lunar Lander that was used as a trainer by Apollo astronauts for their moon mission, complete with Apollo 13 Astronaut Fred Haise's boot prints and autograph at its base. Our last cache was located at another rest stop on Rt 10 and then it was on back to the RV.
We partook of the lunch buffet at the casino today and like the dinner on Sunday it was very good. They had Hot boiled shrimp, crawfish, fried catfish, seafood pasta, hamburgers, grilled chicken, some assorted Chinese food, potatoes and veggies and of course there excellent desserts. For $4.99 you can't go wrong and on Wednesdays it's only $2.49. Of course after that meal dinner is not an option we even want to think of. So Mom did the logs and I am doing the blog now. Well time to say until tomorrow and we love and miss you all.
