Oh My What a Night 2/18 2008

Well last night was not the best night we have spent in our RV. There was a tornado watch when we got home last night till 9:00 pm so we ate and I went to bed about 10:00 and the storms still were not close. The weather radio must have gone off 8 times during the night with off shore storm warings and the extension of the tornado watch first to 1:00 am, then to 3:30 am and finally till 10:00 am this morning. Well I woke up about 1:00 am and came out to check the weather channel radar and there looked like there was a mean line of storms headed our way. Mom saw it and she got out of bed, not wanting to go back till things had quieted down. Well we sat here watching and listening till about 3:00 and finally the line of storms reached us. No wind at all but 3 or 4 of the lightening strikes and thunder claps were something that felt like they were very close. The lightening strikes out over the gulf were awesome to watch. The storms passed quickly and we finally went to bed about 3:30. Of course we both slept in and we really didn't plan to do anything today anyway. So we hung around and did our logs, blog and pictures from yesterday. We did go to the hardware store and Mom baked cookies but other than that we vegged out. We had hot meatball sandwiches tonight and plan on hitting the hay early and getting a good nights sleep. Mom did take a walk on the beach and took our new camera with her as she wants to learn how to take pictures with it and she did excellent as you can see. The pictures she took are down the beach from us and are of what the hurricane left in 2005 of the trees along the beach. Well time to have a cookie and find our caches for tomorrow.
