Savannah Waterfront & Historic River St. 3/9/2010

This morning Mom and I drove into downtown Savannah to the Historic River St. Waterfront area. We wanted to walk down the waterfront and go in the quaint little shops and look at the unusual taverns and restaurants. As we walked we noticed that all the stores and restaurants were ready for there big St. Patrick's Day Parade, one of the largest in the country. We walked and went in the shops and picked up a couple of things and came across Huey's Restaurant where we went in and had beignets and coffee. We got a dozen so we could take some back to the coach so Mom could have them with her afternoon coffee. They were wonderful and huge to boot. We had a great time walking from one end to the other and could only imagine what it will be like there on St Patrick's Day. We finished our walk and jumped in the car and drove back to the coach, picked up the geodogs and headed out to do 3 caches on the island. Two of the caches were out on the Jay Wolf Nature Trail at the Aquarium and U. of GA Marine Science Campus. It was about a 1/2 mile walk out to the one cache and the other was a virtual on our way back. We walked out and back and then went back to the campgrounds and did our usual afternoon things, had dinner and called it a day. Well until next time we love and miss you all. Mom & Dad Dori & Dick
