On the Road to Sioux Falls, SD

We packed up again and headed down I-90 East again to Sioux Falls, SD about 75 miles away. It was a nice trip with no major snags and we finally found the Sioux Falls Fairgrounds after calling them to get the right directions rather than the ones on their web site. Well we pulled into the road that leads to the campgrounds and it started. The road was lined with tractor trailers full of amusement rides, as the fair starts on the 10th, and the rest of the road was all mud. Well we got through the mud and into the fairgrounds and found out all the full hook up sites were gone and all the had left were water and electric so of course what could we do. We finally got parked and set up and had lunch amidst the trains going up and down the tracks 100' from us. As we sat eating lunch we look out the front window of the coach and we see a pair of lights coming right at us up in the air. Well they belonged to a UFO, not really Janet, they were an airplane and by the time he flew right over the coach I swear we could have reached up and touched his landing gear. Well of course it wasn't that low but I'll tell you it really shook the coach. It seems the airport is right next to the fairgrounds. The campgrounds has no TV so we had to use our antenna and we do get the 3 major stations, no wi-fi and the bathrooms are not by any means the cleanest. After we had lunch we went out to check the area and find Petco as we are having Muffy & Raggs clipped tomorrow. We found the store and then took a ride downtown and checked out the historic district. The downtown area was very nice and clean and lovely with a lot of artistic sculptures on almost every corner. Then we headed back to the coach for the day. When we got back we turned the news on and got word they had a sewer emergency in Sioux Falls as one of the main sewer lines had collapsed due to the heavy rains and people in the affected area could not use any water, shower or flush toilets and we were, of course, were in that area. So no shower tonight and we couldn't use the bathrooms at the campgrounds and no telling how long it would be. Thank goodness we are only here for 3 nights. So all in all this was a very poor choice of campgrounds but we guess you can't win them all. Well that's about all from Sioux Falls for today so until tomorrow we love and miss you all.
