On Our Way Across 3 States and to Platte City, MO 8/23/2010

We left Nebraska City as early as we could because it was going to be hot again and we were going to have to run the generator so we could run the roof air conditioner to keep the coach cool on the way to Platte City, MO. It was about a 125 mile drive to our next destination Basswood Resort and RV Park about 5 miles outside Platte City. We got to the campgrounds about 12:30, got set up and had lunch. The campgrounds is top notch with concrete pads for your coach and we are overlooking a small pond. They have great cable and good wi-fi. The bathrooms are A #1 with private rooms that all have a sink, shower, toilet and even a hair dryer (like I need that). After we had lunch we took a ride into Platte City to have a look around, which didn't take to long. It was a very small town with a small historic downtown with not an awful lot of restored older buildings. In fact it looked like most of the downtown area had stores that were empty. The homes around the downtown area were very run down and shabby as the area looked rather depressed. We stopped at one of the few shopping centers and picked up Chinese food for dinner and headed back to the coach for the day. Well that's about all for today from Platte City so until tomorrow we love and miss you all. Mom & Dad Dori & Dick
