On Our Way to Mitchell, SD 7/30/2010
We packed up and were on the road again east on I-90 this time to Mitchell, SD and our stay at the R & R Campground. We hit the road about 9:45 and it was kind of an uneventful ride although we had just left a rest area where we stopped for a breather and Mom noticed one of the braces for the awning had come unhooked, how we don't know. We had to pull to the side of the road and I had to get out and re-hook it but no big deal really. We got there about 11:30 as it was only a 70 mile trip, got set up and had lunch. When we registered we were told that they had had 6" of rain yesterday and all of the rivers we at flood stage still here in SD and they had had 15" of rain so far during July. After lunch Mom drove up to Wal Mart to restock our fridge and cupboards and I stayed at the coach so she could do her take your time thing. After she got back we took a ride into the historic downtown area of Mitchell and drove around to see if there was anything really interesting. There wasn't an awful lot except a lot of older buildings although Mitchell is the home of the only Corn Palace in the country, which we will visit later in our stay. After looking around we headed back to the coach for the day. Well that's about it for today from here so until next time we miss and love you all. Mom & Dad Dori & Dick
