On the Road to Elizabethtown 4/20/2009

We left Paducah, still with no phone call, early to drive to Elizabethtown, KY and our next stop. Elizabethtown is about 40 miles south of Louisville and we do plan on going to make a visit there before we leave. We had a good drive, no narrow bridges, no 2 lane roads but lots and lots of damage from the ice storm visible. All along the Wendall H. Ford Western Kentucky Parkway we could see so much damge still left from the ice storm. There were places where if I had pulled onto the shoulder of the road I would have been lost in trees. Some spots had lane closures from the road crews with heavy equipment loading all the brush they had cut and pushed into piles onto trucks. It really was unbelievable and a shame that so many trees were lost. We passed back into the eastern time zone so we can now get back to normal. We got here about 1:30 and got set up, had lunch and took our usual drive around town to see what was what. We got back and spent the rest of the afternoon, which we lost an hour of, doing the blog, working on pictures and Mom watched TV and read. We had dinner and called it a day. Well until we meet again tomorrow we love and miss you all. Mom & Dad
