Well wish I could have more to put on the blog than what I am going to but there wasn't anything at all going on on Wednesday. We took a ride to Rodanthe and saw where the ocean overwash blocked the road earlier in the day, stopped at the store, stopped at a few places to look at the ocean and went back to the coach and sat and watched TV and worked on the blog. It was even to windy and nasty for the kite surfers and wind surfers yesterday as they were also grounded. At 4:00 pm here is the bulletin the Emergency Management Coordinator put on their web site:
Highway 12 on Hatteras Island Closed at Rodanthe
Highway 12 on Hatteras Island between Oregon Inlet and Rodanthe is closed to all vehicular traffic due to ocean over-wash and sand on the highway. Traffic is being stopped at the north end of the Bonner Bridge at Oregon Inlet and just North of the Village of Rodanthe. The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) will assess the situation when conditions allow, and the road will be re-opened as soon as possible.
So as of 8:00 am this morning (Thursday) it is still closed and we aren't really sure when we will be able to leave. Well anyway here we sit and as I said we sat and watched TV, had dinner and turned in about 11:00. Well until Thursday from who knows where we love you all. Mom & Dad
