A Double Day to Remember 9/5/2008

Well we packed up and left PA about 9:30 to motor on down the road to Felton, DE and Killens Pond SP. All was fine as we drove down Interstate 476 down past Philadelphia and into Delaware. We had just gotten on RT 95 near Wilmington, DE and all of a sudden bump bump and we had a flat tire on the tow dolly. Well the only thing good about it was that we blew it in a spot where we could get well off the road out of the traffic. Well we started calling, AAA couldn't help us as all they covered was our car, we called Camping World and the tire warranty we bought only covered the car and coach. So here we are on RT 95 and no way to find a tire service or tow service. Well after some calling we did find a tow service that would come out and pick up the dolly and take it back and replace the tire. We had to take the car off and unhook the dolly from the coach and they got to our location in good time and loaded the dolly on to his flat bed and we were off in a caravan to the tire shop. Once we got there they had ordered a tire and they replaced it and we were off and on our way in about an hour. All in all it wasn't to bad and we were lucky it didn't take longer and that it didn't happen in a more dangerous spot on 95. The owners of the tire store were the greatest people and so friendly. They offered to get us lunch, they gave the dogs water and did everything they could to help us. Well we were back on the road and got to Killens Pond about 3:00 and found out that there was a Tropical Storm Warning out for the area for Friday night and all day Saturday, just what we wanted to hear. We checked in and got set up and the Park Rangers came around and gave us a slip of paper that said we could leave if we wanted to and they would refund our money as they were advising everybody to leave because of the high winds and being in the woods. Well really where were we going to go? Back up north where we just came from or back south into the area the storm was coming from? We decided to wait it out and see what happened but we did ask if we could park the coach in their overflow parking lot if the wind got bad and they said no problem at all, so we decided to wait and see. Well last night wasn't at all bad as all we had was a little rain and not really that heavy. They have said it was supposed to be the worst this afternoon with 4"-7" of rain and 30-40 mph winds with gusts over 50. Well stayed tuned tomorrow to see if we made it through or not and we love you all and miss you guys and by the way we would like to take time do to thank everybody for a wonderful visit with each and every family and thank you also for all the trouble you guys went to to make us feel welcome, happy and comfortable. We love you. Mom & Dad
