Second Day of Caching Around Painted Post 5/18/2009

Today Mom and I decided to hang around close to the coach and do some caching in the Painted Post area. Again there wasn't to much interesting at all. About the only was that wasn't a NRV cache was the one we did at Painter Post-Erwin Museum at the Depot. The Painted Post Depot was built by the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western Railroad. It provided passenger and freight service in the Southern Tier. The pre-fabricated building was delivered on rail and erected on its current site in Painted Post in 1881-1882. The depot was used by the railroad until 1954. In 1991, the building was placed on the National Register of Historic Places. It has served as the Painted Post branch of the Corning-Painted Post Historical Society since 2000. The rest of the caches as I said were NRV located in a parking lot, baseball field, on a tree near a round-a-bout, at a Home Depot, in a deserted K-Mart and in a small park. After our last cache we were off to the coach and lunch and our usual afternoon and evening routines. Well until next time we love and miss you all. Mom & Dad
