Moving, Problems, & Caching 2/26-3/3/2009

Thursday we ran a few errands and packed some more of the coach getting ready to move to the campgrounds for a few days.
Friday Mom volunteered at the hospital in the nursery as she got her last baby fix for awhile. I stayed at the house and did a little more packing, as you don't really realize how much we had in the coach. I also finished washing the windows inside and out and did some other cleaning.
Saturday consisted of more packing and we went over and gave Liz and Bob a hand as they had to move to another condo for the last month of there stay in MB. We went to dinner with Ed, Liz, Bob, Gina and Steve in Little River at Crab Catchers Saturday evening as it was going to be the last dinner we all had together. Steve has to move to Charleston on Sunday where he will be working Monday-Friday and come back to MB on the weekends. It was either move or lose his job so he took the move for right now. We had a great dinner although the waitress left something to be desired.
Sunday was move day for us and when we got up it was pouring rain and I mean POURING. Little by little we moved the rest of our things out into the coach and of course not without getting wet. We finally got all packed and hooked up the dolly and were on our way to Briarcliff RV Resort for 5 days. We got there , got our site and went and hooked up and of course not without getting soaked as it was still pouring. Then the fun began. We turned on the kitchen faucet and and water came shooting out of it all over everything. I took it apart as far as I could go to see if I could fix it but to no avail. We weren't sure what happened so we turned it off cleaned up the mess and used the bathroom water for the rest of the night.
Monday we called Camping World to see if they could get us in and fix our leak and luckily they could as they had had a cancellation so we tore everything down and off we went to Camping World. Well to make a long story short they aren't sure what happened to it but it was broken so they replaced it with a new faucet and all it cost us was $6.83 seeing as we had bought a extended warranty and they covered the other $273.00. We wandered around for awhile in the car while we were waiting and stopped and said hello to Liz and Bob at there new place then finally they had it done about noon. We drove back and set up again and spent the rest of the afternoon rearranging a few things to best meet our needs.
Tuesday we woke up to a frozen hose as the temperatures here got down into the low 20's, stupid cold weather here. We never thought to leave it running either (DUHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH). They have said this has been the coldest winter here since the early 1990's. So I unhooked the hose put a new one on it and we ran the water for awhile and finally got a good flow so we were off caching then with Liz and Bob to Oak Island. By the way we left the water running this time. We drove up there and we did 14 caches which just about finished off doing everything on the island that we hadn't found. We stopped at the local BBQ restaurant and had lunch with Grin N Bear it (Jen Allen), and her husband Jerry, Sailing Bev from Endicott and Jilly her granddaughter. We had met them through geocaching and they are so nice and we enjoy spending time with them anytime we get a chance. We sat and chatted and Mom took Jilly out for a walk and to meet Muffy and Raggs. As I said we found 14 caches several were at beach accesses, several along nature trails, 3 in Oak Island parks, one under the bridge to the island, another near the new bridge they are putting in to the island and several by Sailing Bev one on a sign and another behind a guardrail in a fake rock. All in all we had a great day meeting them for lunch and finding several of their caches. It was cold but at least it was sunny. We drove back and dropped Liz and Bob off and went back to the coach. Mom did our logs and I cleaned the car and showered and we had dinner and went to bed and we did leave the water running as it was going to be cold again tonight, VERY COLD.
Well that's about it for now so we will say until next time we love you all and miss you. Mom & Dad
