HAPPY BIRTHDAY MELISSA, Grand Ole Opry and Caching Today 4/26/2008
We would like to take this opportunity to wish our lovely daughter-in-law Melissa a very very HAPPY BIRTHDAY and many many more like this one.
We left early this morning to drive into the Grand Ole Opry House and the Opryland Complex and to do some caching. Our first cache was located at the former site of the Isaac Litton High School which we found quickly, second cache was in a local neighborhood on a fire hydrant and our third cache was at a Cracker Barrel which we decided to get before it got to busy. Then it was on to Opryland before that got to busy. Our first stop there was at the Grand Ole Opry House itself and we walked around through the complex and grounds which were lovely. We saw the Roy Acuff Theater and the museum and went back to the car so we could drive around and see the rest of the complex as it was huge. We drove to the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center and finally found an illegal place to park as they charged you $16.00 to just park and walk in. We walked into the Casades Hotel to look around and it was beautiful. We saw the Cascades Atrium and the Garden Conservatory and then thought we had better get back to the car before it got towed. That was about all there was to see so we went back to our caching.
Our fourth cache was locate between a Waffle House and a local church, fifth, was at a local church in a light pole, sixth, was on a sign in a small neighborhood, seventh, was on a paper box in a Shoney's, eighth, was between a Marriott Courtyard and a Best Western, ninth, was at a Edwin Watts Gold Store in a light pole, tenth, was in front of a Yogi Bear Good Sam RV Park, eleventh, was in front of a local camping store, twelveth, was in a gas station near a phone booth, and thirteenth was behind a tree in the woods on a dead end road.
