Caching in Goodlettsville, TN Area 4/24/200

Today we went caching around the Goodlettsville, TN area. We left about 9:00 and drove to the first cache which was located at an old church in Luton, TN just outside of Goodlettsville. The name of the church was the Luton United methodist Church and it was organized in 1859 and the church was built in 1938. It does have some history as Grandpa Jones a member of the Grand Ole Opry, member of the Country Music Hall of Fame and a cast member of the Hee Haw TV show lived here since 1957 and is buried in this cemetery. He always said "These hills are where I want to stay 'til I am called away, these hills are my home". He died in 1998 at the age of 85. Second cache was a virtual across the street which we had to have the colors of a lighthouse in a yard, third, was a cache located near a church in a rock bluff, fourth, was a cache at a BBQ restaurant that is no longer there, fifth, was at the Ministry of Nashville Cowboy Church.
Sixth cache was another virtual where we had to find a historic marker and answer 2 questions. It had to do with Casper Mansker Goodlettsville's first citizen 1746-1820. He erected a fort called Manskers Station in 1780, 1 mile north on Manskers Creek. Seventh cache was in a light pole at a shopping center, eighth, was at a lovely church with the tallest spire in Goodlettsville, ninth was at Jenny's Restaurant, tenth, at a Jack in the Box restaurant and eleventh, was at a Cracker Barrel.
One other thing we did see was an old stone bridge over which passed the old stage road from Nashville to Louisville. The stage line operated until the railroad was completed in 1859.
Then it was on back to the RV for lunch and Mom did the logs while I showered. We are going out to eat tonight BIG TIME. They are having a dinner here at the campgrounds at 6:00 with live music (can hardly wait to hear what kind) so tomorrow I will fill y'all in about the whole thing, got me talking like they do down here now. What a small world it is, we met some people next door to us from NJ that live about 10 minutes from Sean. Time to go to dinner so we will say until tomorrow and we love you and miss you all.
