Sunday Football, Ferry Ride to Beaufort, NC 10/4-5/2009

Sunday was spent, of course, watching NFL football as I watched the Cowboys-Denver, Tennessee-Jacksonville and Ravens-Patriots games. Again the Giants weren't on so I had to watch what I could on the pc. Mom spent the day reading and watching the other TV in the bedroom. We talked to all the boys except Sean as he was in NJ going to the WWE Hell in a Cell wrestling matches with friends.
Monday morning we were up early and off at 7:00 for our first ferry ride of the day. We drove to Hatteras and took the 40 minute ferry ride to Ocracoke Island and then drove down to Ocracoke Village and waited for our ferry ride to Cedar Island. That ride was 2 1/4 hours and was smooth as silk and you didn't even know you were on a boat. I caught a short nap and we ate lunch as we made the trip. The trips were very nice and it saved a lot of gas as we didn't have to drive back out the Outer Banks and then down along the coast to our next stop near Beaufort, NC.
We got to Cedar Island about 12:45 and drove south to our next stop at Coastal Riverside Campgrounds in Otway, NC. We got there and got set up and drove into Beaufort, NC the biggest town in the area. We looked around and found it to be a very old town with a nice waterfront area which we plan on visiting later in the week. We drove back to the campgrounds and showered and had dinner. The campgrounds is mostly seasonal campers and they only have a few sites for travelers. You can either get a site with water, electric and cable or a site with water, electric and sewer so we took the one with cable.
