Caching Around the Lancaster Area 9/16/2009

This morning was our first day of caching around the campgrounds as there was quite a few new caches here since we visited in May. Our first cache was on a guardrail at a very scenic spot overlooking the Amish farms.
Next cache was at a site called Friends Meeting, circa 1737, which has played a vital role as one of the historic peace churches in Christiana, PA, which William Penn originally called The Servants' Land Cost of the original tract granted by Thomas and Richard Penn, sons of William, in 1749, was eight pounds and a few shillings, also the name of the cache, and was some 56 acres to be held in trust for the people called Quakers. As Penn made bond with the Indians, so would we with all men. "We will be as brethren, your people and my people, as children of one father." To each other, "all the paths shall be open." When a wrong is righted, "the wrong shall be forgotten." "We will transmit this league between us to our children. It shall be made stronger and stronger, and be kept bright and clean without spot or rust, between our children and our children's children, while the creeks and the rivers run, and while the sun, moon, and stars endure." And Penn added, "We will go along the broad pathway of goodwill to each other together."
Next cache was a multi-cache in a small park near Lancaster where took Muffy and Raggs for a walk as we looked for each stage of the cache. Then we were off to WalMart for a puzzle cache where we had to find a magnetic key holder that had the combination to a mailbox located inside WalMart at McDonalds which held the log book. Next cache was in a small park near a playground and swing set, next was a cache in a pine tree behind some outlet stores and our last cache of the day was at the Carters store behind the store in some rocks. Then it was on back to the coach for our usual afternoon of lunch, cache logging, watching TV and dinner. Well until next time we love you all. Mom & Dad Dori & Dick
