Seafood Fest in Little Egg Habor 8/9/2008

Saturday morning we set out for Little Egg Harbor, NJ and Kim's Mom and Dad's new house for a seafood party. We thought we would be smart alecs and avoid the traffic on the NJ Parkway and go an alternate route down Rt 95 into a back road that would take us to Little Egg Harbor. Well things were great until we hit the merging truck lane traffic, which merges 5 lanes down into 3. The traffic was backed up for 20 miles and it took us 3 1/4 hours to make the 1 1/2 hour trip. Seeing as we couldn't find anyone to watch Muffy and Raggs we unfortunately only had about an hour to spend at the party as we felt the longest we could leave them alone was 6-6 1/2 hours. We got there and saw Chris and Fred, Donna and Jay and Tammy and Rob and we talked for awhile and had a few things to eat and like we said unfortunately we had to leave. The food was great as they had whole crabs, boiled shrimp, cheese and crackers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, sausage, crab cakes, scallops wrapped in bacon, mussels, clams and I'm sure lots of other things we couldn't partake of. It was great to see Chris and Fred and we really felt bad about having to literally eat and run without getting a chance to catch up on things. It was nice also to see Tammy, Rob, Donna and Jay and we did get a few minutes to chat with them. We left about 4:00 and drove back to Sean's and got there about 6:00. I watched TV till about 8:30 and I was pooped so I went to bed and Mom stayed up till Kim and Sean got home. Well again we apologize for not being able to stay longer but we had a commitment and had to make sure the dogs were taken care of. Well that's about all from here and we love you all.
