A Great Birthday at the Yankee-Angel Game 8/3/2008

We left Sunday morning about 10:30 to go to Yankee Stadium and the Yankees-Angels baseball game that Sean had gotten tickets for through his company. We stopped on the way and got sandwiches from a deli and we were off. We drove into New York City and the traffic was horrible as it was just about time for the Sunday play matinees to start so everybody was in town looking for parking. We finally found a parking garage and parked the car and walked to the subway which took us to the stadium. We got there and into our seats about 12:45, 20 minutes before the game started. The Angels went ahead 5-0 in the first few innings but the Yanks came back to tie the game at 5-5 and then went ahead 8-5 on Xavier Nady's 3 run homer. The Angels came back though and scored 4 runs on a grand slam home run in the 7th but the Yanks scored 6 runs in the bottom of the 8th to win the game 14-9. It was a great day as the sandwiches we got were awesome and Sean had my name put up on the scoreboard in the bottom of the 6th inning wishing me a happy birthday. We left the stadium in the top of the ninth and took the subway back to the car, drove home and got there about 6:30. We had a surprise waiting for us for dinner as one of Kim's friends had just come from Maine and had left 4 live Maine lobsters for us. We cooked them and they were GREATso nice and sweet and fresh. Then after dinner Kim had made me a delicious chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, mini chocolate chips and fresh raspberries on top with a raspberry jam filling. What a birthday as it was, so much fun and I only wish everybody could have enjoyed it with me. Well it's time for bed and we want to tell you we love you and miss you all.
