Mom's Day in the Big City & a TV Star is Born 8/6/2008

Well we have a TV star in our midst as Mom was on the Today show yesterday twice when she took her trip into New York City. Mom left at 5:45, first time she has been up at that time in a long time, with Kim and Sean and went into the city with them for her day out on the town. They got in with no problem, parked the car and stopped at a little place for breakfast. Then Kim and Sean left to go to their respective offices and Mom was on her own until lunch. She first went over to where the crowd stands outside the Today show and she was there for about 45 minutes and we saw her twice on TV as they panned the crowd. Then she went and wandered around Times Square and went in Saks and looked around and stopped at the Yankee store to pick up some things for Xmas presents. By this time it was time to meet Kim and Sean for lunch at a "real" Chinese restaurant. They ordered a lot of Chinese appetizers and shared them all, and what they were I don't have the slightest idea. They told me that this place was authentic Chinese and they didn't have egg foo young or General Tso's chicken so I wouldn't have liked it. After lunch it was time to walk over to the Winter Garden Theater to see Mama Mia, stopping at a few of the shops along the way. This was Sean's treat for his Mom as he knows she loves Broadway shows. They all really enjoyed the play and said it was excellent. Then it was time to trudge back to the parking garage and the trip home. They got home about 6:30 and we had dinner, they had brought me a pastrami sandwich from the Stage Deli which was out of this world. After dinner we watched TV and Mom went to bed early as it was a long and tiring day for her. Well time to say until tomorrow we love and miss you all.
