Grand Strand Geocachers Meeting

Saturday wasn't awfully busy as we went and did 2 caches and after we got back Mom went and did the grocery shopping and finished our Xmas shopping as we found out we are going to have to leave for Camillus on Wednesday as Tim and his family can't make it to Sean's next weekend. Saturday night was the monthly meeting of the Grand Strand Geocachers at Golden Corral in Myrtle Beach. This is always a great time as we have made a lot of new friends through these meetings and geocaching. Golden Corral serves a buffet which isn't really to bad if your careful what you pick to eat. After we ate we had a Chinese auction which was a lot of fun and had everybody laughing by the time we were done. For anyone who doesn't know what a Chinese auction is: you bring a Xmas gift, either a joke or something valued around $10-$15, and then you draw numbers so you know what position you will open a present in. They start at #1 and that person goes up and opens a gift. Next #2 goes up and opens another gift and can keep that gift or take the gift away from the 1st person that opened a gift. If someone takes a gift away from someone else the person that they took it away from gets to go up and open another gift or take another person's gift and of course if they take a gift away from someone that person gets to open another gift. Next #3 opens a gift and can keep that one or take #1 or #2's gift. It goes on like that till everyone has opened a gift and either has kept there gift or taken a gift away from another person. No gift can change hands more than 3 times during the auction and each person last night ended up with a very nice gift. The gifts people brought were exceptionally nice and included geocoins, candy, folding camp chair, desk set, teddy bears, games, travel bugs and ammo cans. We were on our way home in the rain, first we have had since we got here by 9:00 pm. Love to everybody and hope your all well.
