Wilmington Airport, Caching,& Miyabi 2/4-8/2009

Wednesday was the day we drove to Wilmington to pick up Mom's girlfriend Judy and it ended up being quite a long day. Her first flight out of Syracuse to Philly was delayed an hour and then the second flight was delayed again and finally they put her on a flight to New York's LaGuardia and then a flight here which wasn't scheduled to arrive until 5:48. She was supposed to be here at 11:00 in the morning and that really was quite a delay. They kept telling her it was because of air traffic. She flew a small 2 prop plane out of Syracuse and a small jet out of NY. Well it all worked out as in the morning they had a freak snowstorm around us and there were 110 accidents all over the place. We sat here watching TV early in the morning kind of wondering how we were going to get there by 11:00 so it really all work out for the best. We left here about 2:30 and did 8 caches in Wilmington before we picked her up and as it was when we got to the airport the plane was early by 20 minutes so we got there just about the same time as she did. We drove back and picked up sandwiches for dinner and went home.
Thursday I just hung around the house all day and Mom and Judy went to the store and just kind of wandered around all day.
Friday I went caching with Liz and Bob while Mom and Judy went shopping. We went and did a series of new caches that a husband and wife just started putting out called Anti-Micro caches. They put every one of them out in the same type of container and in the same way, under a light pole skirt. We guessed they did this because they hated micro container caches. We did 18 caches today and 17 of them were all the same Anti-Micro series. The only one different was one we did in a small park in the woods. All these caches were along RT 17 toward Wilmington so it really didn't present much of a challenge for anybody. We stopped at Andy's for a burger and fries and drove home. Friday night we all went to Miyabi Japanese Steakhouse for dinner and had a great time especially Liz and Bob. They pulled into what they thought was the restaurant parking lot only it was the place next door, got out of their car and walked in the front door of the establishment and never noticed it was Secrets Strip Club. They walked in and the girl at the front asked if she could help them and they said they didn't know and then she said I really think you are in the wrong place.....and sure enough they were.....see the picture.
Saturday Mom, Judy and myself went with Ed to Florence to do a few caches as Judy was wondering what it was like and wondered if she might be interested in it.Well she did like it except the walking through the woods and in swampy areas. We found just 4 caches but Ed and Judy found 8 as we did visit some that we had found last year when we were here. We had lunch at Pizza Hut and drove back to the house.
Sunday I spent at home watching TV and working on the computer and Mom and Judy went grocery shopping and wandered around to several different shops.
Not much else interesting going on here so we will say until the next blog we miss you all and love you. Mom & Dad
