BORINGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG 1/18-19/2009

Not much going on around here Sunday or Monday. Mom went and got groceries at Wally World on Sunday and I watched the 2 NFL playoff games. Monday Mom had PT in the morning and we stayed around the house as it was getting cloudy and we were under a winter storm advisory. We were supposed to get some snow during the night and into Tuesday so I don't think we will be going to far then either not with these crazy southern drivers here. PT, Caching, & Volunteering 1/12/-17/2009

Monday Mom had PT early in the morning and after she came home we went out caching as there was a new series of caches along a Watertower Road off RT 31. They were put out by one of the local cachers and 3 of them were multi caches and the 4th was a puzzle cache. You had to find the 3 multi caches first as there were coords in each one of them to the final "Bonus" cache. We drove out to the location which is in the middle of nowhere although at one time a group of developers had put a new exit ramp at the location in hopes of building houses back there but right no we believe that is on hold. We found the first 3 multi caches after tramping around in the woods at 3 seperate sites and got the numbers to the final cache. We drove to the bonus cache and found the first stage quickly but when we started after the second stage all we came upon was dense dense woods so it was getting late and we were tired and hungry so we decided to see if there was an easier way in and come back another time. We drove home and had lunch and watched TV the rest of the afternoon.
Tuesday was a wet rainy day so all we did was run a few errands at Wally World and watch TV for the rest of the day. We did go to dinner with Ed, Gina and Steve and we went to Sticky Fingers and had a good meal.
Wednesday Mom hat PT early so she went there and after she got back we went out caching. Raggs had to be dropped off at the vets before we went caching as we thought he might have chewed one of his small toys and swallowed a piece so we wanted him to be X-rayed so we dropped him off along with poor Muffy for company. Our first cache was put out by Liz & Bob near a small pond in NMB and we found that quickly. Next was another cache in NMB in a small wooded area. Next was a cache in back of a shopping center and then we drove back out to Watertower Rd to finish the one cache we left on Monday. We did find a way back into the woods from another direction so we walked back and found the ammo can quickly and walked back out without seeing any critters. Next was a cache in the Heritage Preserve in a group of trees and that turned out to be our last cache as the vet called and said Raggs was ready and that their was nothing showing on the X-ray. We picked them up and went back to the house and had lunch. Mom did our logs and as she finished a new cache popped up not far from the house so we went out and found it and went back home.
Thursday we drove down to Pawley's Island to do some caches and we had very good luck and found 12. Most of the caches were easy ones with a few in small wooded areas, one a near welcome to sign, one at a Food Lion, one near a sewage treatment plant, one near the causeway and one at the South Strand Hospital. We did find one neat one at the Hammock Shops in Pawley's Island that was a bird feeder and was hung outside a store window. After our last cache Mom stopped at the Pottery Outlet and picked up a few things for the RV and we drove home and had lunch. We did go to dinner with Liz, Bob, Gina, Steve and Bob's son from Vancouver and his girlfriend to TGIF.
Friday Mom had PT early and then went directly to the hospital to volunteer in the nursery. I stayed home and was totally bored all day. Mom stopped at Tanger on the way home and picked up a few things for some birthdays we have coming up.
Saturday we were off early with Ed to Marion to put out what we thought was going to be another puzzle cache but we ended up doing 3 caches 2 puzzles and a traditional. We found so many interesting historical sites that we just had to plan on doing 2 caches there. It was a lovely small town USA with lots and lots of early American history. We stopped and got a breakfast sandwich and coffee in the middle of our hunt and we finished up about noon. In between looking for our historic sites we did do 3 caches in the area. One was at the Welcome to Marion sign and the other 2 were done by Ed. One was a puzzle cache at a small park in Marion, which had to do with the walking path in the park. We did it quickly and did get one hint from Ed on a number we had wrong and found the container in a tree in the park. The other was along a bridge which was the Frank L. Prins Bridge on the Marion Hike/Bike Trail. Blumenthal Mills Inc. donated this walking bridge in 1992 in honor of Frank L. Prins in recognition of the significant contributions he has made to their successes thereby beneficial not only to their company but also the city of Marion. We drove back to Ed's house and unloaded the Christmas things that he is going to store for us while we are on the road again and rove back to the house. We had lunch and Mom went out shopping and I watched some basketball games on TV. All in all it was a fun day caching and hunting for historical sites with Ed and Mom.

PT, Shopping, Volunteering and Not Much Else 1/7-11/2009

Wednesday we just hung around the house and ran a few errands as it was kind of nasty here.
Thursday Mom had PT in the morning and after she got back we took a ride down to Sears in Coastal Grande Mall and ordered our TV for the RV. We got a 26" Vizio HD LCD which has a very nice picture and will fit into the compartment in the RV very nicely. The only thing is it won't be here until Feb 2nd as they are quite popular and are out of stock right now, and we have a appointment at Camping World on the 9th to have it installed and have the coach checked over before we get on the road again.
Friday Mom went and volunteered at the hospital and got back about 3:00. She said she was very busy as they have 15 rooms in the nursery and they had 15 babies and Mom's in the rooms. She got to bathe and hold a lot of the babies so she was in her glory and even though she was tired it was a good tired.
Saturday I washed the outside of the coach as it had gotten covered in sand from our latest wind and rain storm we had on Wednesday and Thursday. Mom went to luch with Gina, Liz and Diane, a friend of Gina's and then went shopping at a few places in MB. I hung around and started searching for all the camping info we had lost when the pc crashed. I also watched the first 2 NFL playoff games as I worked.
Sunday was here and there is no joy in Cherry Grove at the end of the day. I am in mourning for 3 days as the Giants lost to the Eagles and are out of the playoffs. I guess that's what you get when you play like a bunch of bums and don't deserve to win. I think the problem was they started out the season to high and instead of having any room to go up the only way they went was down. Oh well next year is another year. Mom went grocery shopping and shopping for some things for the coach as I sat here and yelled at the TV.

Football, Doctors, Dolly and Caching 1/4-6/2009

Sunday of course was NFL football day which is soon coming to and end......darn it. I watched all the plaoff games on Saturday and Sunday as I have to get my fill before the Super Bowl. I know now who the Giants will be playing in the first round and that will be the Eagles and I have my doubts if they can beat them, but we will see. Mom went out for a little while and ran a few errands she had to do while I watched football. We had a great dinner as we had bought a small prime rib at Sam's on Sat and it turned out very well and it was nice and tender. We watched TV till it was time for bed.
Monday was very busy as we had to hook up the dolly and take it out to Little River and have our new fender put on from the tire blowout we had on RT 95 in Delaware last year. When the tire blew it ripped off part of the fender and took out all the wiring so we had to have that fixed as well. After that Mom had to go to the doctor to have her last injection for her back. The doctor gave her 2 shots this time, one in the lower back and one up a little higher. She is all done with him for now even though she does have another appointment scheduled, if she needs it, in Feb. After we were done there we drove back to the house and Bob picked me up and took me out to get the coach and dolly. I also had the fellow that did the dolly put on a new wheel and tire we had gotten so we now have a spare, just in case. The tire we took off and will be using as a spare was quite worn on the inside and we are wondering if this was why the other one blew. I came back to the house and unhooked the dolly and parked the coach and had lunch and then went with Liz and Bob to find a few caches that we had found that they have had trouble finding. Mom stayed home as she was tired and her injection sites were kind of sore so she wanted to take a nap. After I got back I made dinner and we ate and watched TV for awhile.
Tuesday Mom was feeling better so went caching with Liz and Bob down around the Surfside, Garden City, Pawley's Island area. Our first cache was at a beach store in the front planter, then it was on to a small park and one hidden in a pine tree. Next were 2 caches located near Food Lion grocery stores, next was one hidden in a sprinkler head in a small shopping center, then a travel bug lodge in a pine tree near a Wendy's, then one in the woods behind a Tokyo East restaurant, next was a great hide in an elbow piece of PVC pipe that was down next to a boardwalk and looked just like part of the drainage that came out from under the walkway. Next was a cache hidden near a small shopping center in the woods under a fallen tree, and our last cache was behind another small shopping center in the woods. On our way home we stopped at Hardees and had lunch and at Sam's Club as Liz and Bob had to pick up a few things. After we got home Mom did our logs and I took Muffy and Raggs for a walk. We had dinner and watched TV for awhile and I went to bed.

Nothing Much Going on Around Here 1/2-3/2009

Friday was a quiet day as it was in most households just trying to recover from the holidays and get back into a normal routine. Mom did get back to the hospital to volunteer in the nursery for a little while. She made sure that she sat down and rested each hour on the hour and the nurses there kept nagging her not to overdo it. She really enjoyed being back as there were a set of twin boys that were just born and she got to feed them, both at the same time, and that really brought back old memories. She got home about 2:00 and really was tired, but a good and enjoyable tired, so she laid down on the couch and took a little nap. I walked down to the new hotels about a 1/4 mile from the house and helped Liz and Bob place a new cache and they dropped me back at home. That was about it for Friday as we had dinner and watched TV later.
Saturday Mom and I went out to check the stores for our new HDTV for the coach but really didn't make any decision as yet. We went to Best Buy, Sears, AVAC, Target, Sam's and WalMart. There doesn't seem to be much of a selection in the 26" range as that is what we need to fit our cubby hole where the TV is now. We drove home and Mom went to luch with Gina and her girlfriend Diane and then went to the mall to walk around. I stayed at home and did a few things around the house and caught up on our pictures. Again we had dinner and watched the football games and that ended Saturday.
